Diphtheria Phase II builds on the themes of the previous installation, 'Diphtheria,' which served as a metaphor for the silenced voices of Middle Eastern women and their fight to be heard. Similar to the disease, which spreads through air and direct social or political contact, the suppression of free speech often begins internally. This phase documents the Iranian Protests of 2022 and offers an auditory experience that reflects the intensifying struggles of Iranians, accompanied by a soundscape that captures their social and political milieu.
